Staff Member of the Week

Last week, I was nominated as Staff Member of the Week. It was an incredibly humbling moment, and the only reason I wanted to include it on my blog, is so that I can always look back and be reminded why I love teaching. It can be a very trying career and emotionally draining. And this year has been very hard. But I can honestly say that with the support and love from my OMS family, they have helped me survived and overcome this challenging year personally and emotionally. I absolutely love where I am, who I work with, and of course my love for my students.

Crazy Saturday Night

Most of the time, our Saturday nights consist of corralling our crazy kids and watching the chaos unfold. A little different than it was 10 years ago! :) But we love it, and we love when the cousins are together and to see all the babies playing.

Flashback 8 Years Ago

This picture popped up on my Facebook memories the other day from when Joe and I first started dating in 2010. So crazy to think we've been together 8 years already!

Day at the Farm With Papa

Saturday the kids went to surprise my dad at the farm, which was a win-win for everyone! The boys love riding in the tractor, but I think it might be safe to say that Piper is loving it the most as of now. She kept walking towards my dad when it wasn't her turn to ride in the tractor. He will have some great help in a few years with planting and harvest season :)

Piper Loving Outdoor Toys

For only being 1 year old, Piper definitely is trying her best to keep up with her older brothers. She LOVES to ride on the toys outside. I think she is wanting one of her own now :)

Overwhelmed Without Her

When people tell you it takes a village to raise your child(red), it's so true. I am quickly realizing how blessed I was to have my mom be a stay at home mom. Not only for me when I was growing up, but to help with my kids too. She was always my go to person for helping if one of my kids were sick and she would keep them for the day, or if I needed help running kids to doctor appointments, etc. Life is quickly getting crazier now and harder without that support, and I am completely getting overwhelmed. Not that I don't love it, having a huge family has always been my dream and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's just so different when you were used to having that constant support and then when it's gone, you realized how fortunate you really were to have that extra helping hand. Now that Baine and Piper are having ear issues, that's double the regular appointments. I guess it's what you get with a handful of kiddos :) Needless to say, I wish I could go back and make sure that my mom knew how grateful and appreciative I was of her and all her help. She was always there to take me to my appointments and get me into doctors I needed, and was there helping again with my kids. She contributed more to my life than any dollar amount could ever match up to. And If I could go back in time, I'd let her know that over and over again.

Be grateful. Be appreciative. Don't let the little things go by without a thank you and smile. Be sure to always let those close to you know how much they mean to you and how grateful you are for them. I am not good at this myself, and am still learning to be better. I just wish I would have learned this hard lesson before last June...

Finally Enjoying Outside

Papa's Farm Boys

Sunday my dad wanted to take the boys all to the farm and see the cows and new calves. Baine is obsessed with cows and he had his boots on instantly and was ready! Of course, somehow, Papa was talked into treated the boys with ice-cream after too. What a perfect day to be out at the farm!

Spring, Is That You?

With the weather FINALLY getting nicer, the kids have been enjoying playing outside and getting to use their playground. I sure hope this late spring weather means a long summer :)

Date Night With Dena

Dena has always been my person since we were infants. We can fight so bad, but we are over it instantly. She has been, and will always be, my best friend. We were finally able to have a date night with just us two. It has been forever since that has happened. Thanks for always being my other half, Dena Kay. Love you longtime :)

Beau's 1st Soccer Game of the Season

I can't believe how much Beau has improved in soccer since last fall. He is still loving it and refuses to give it up....yeahhhhhh :) Even though it is so cold and miserable out at Lacey, it is worth it to see him out enjoying a sport and making new friends.
