Easter Bunny = Failure

On Saturday, the Easter Bunny was at Mahaska Drug.  My mom, Brook and I thought it would be fun to take Beau and Banx.  Since Beau didn't mind seeing Santa, I thought he would be okay seeing the Easter Bunny.  As you can see, it was a huge failed attempt!  Once we sat Beau next to the bunny, and it started moving, then Beau freaked out and had a very dramatic meltdown.  I don't think we'll be seeing the Easter Bunny again anytime soon :)

Spring Break!

Last week I had the entire week off for our school's spring break.  While I wasn't relaxing on a beach in 85 degree weather or basking in the ocean, I did have an amazing break for one main reason---I was able to spend every minute of it with Beau!  I miss him so much while I am at work, and being able to spend an entire week with him was just what I needed :)  On top of getting Beau all to myself, I also had Banx all week too!  We had so much fun playing, painting nails, and of course, watching Mickey.

Since the weather was cold and dreadful, we weren't able to go outside and play.  So instead, we did several inside activities.  But every morning, this is how we started our day....breakfast in bed while watching Mickey :)

17 Months Old!

On this Thursday, Beau will be 17 months old---where has time gone?!  He is getting so big, so smart, and SO ORNERY!  I was thinking this morning that I want to be able to look back and remember everything Beau was doing at different ages (the good and the naughty things) so I wanted to document it :)

Here are some of the things Beau is doing lately:
-His vocabulary is rising!  He can say: Mama, Dada, Mary, Mayee (for Macee), Pat (he sure loves his Uncle Pat), binky, blankie, Mickey, Barey (for Barney), pease (for please), tank you (thank you), and he still signs for "more".  There are times where he says different words, but then he forgets how to say them again!  Everyday though he is learning to say or do something new!
-Temper tantrums...oh the temper tantrums!  He is quite the drama king
-He LOVES drinking out of a glass
-Still loves going to sleep to his classical music
-He likes to chase Macee around the house and then sit with her and just hold her
-If you ask for a kiss, Beau will be more than happy to give you one!  He likes to keep his mouth open when giving kisses
-RUNNING!  There is no more slow walking in our house, he is turning into a runner!  Needless to say, there have been many face plants happening lately.
-SO ORNERY!  When I tell Beau "no" or not to do something, he will do it again, and then look back at me with a smile.  I think he's going to give me gray hair by the time I'm 30!

Celebrating St. Patty's Day at Miss Mary's!

This morning Mary sent me text messages of the following pictures.  The captions we're the best part :)
"Happy Clover Day ! (according to Reid)"

"I kept telling Beau to keep his hands off Liam--look at Beau's face--terd!"
And then Mary sent me one more text picture of Beau continuing to pull at Liam's hat and made him cry.  Bad-bad Beau-man!  This just goes to show how ornery Beau is getting and how he is starting to give us a run for our money :)  Let the terrible 2's begin I guess!

Oscar Night at the Pierson House!

It is no secret that Joe and I are frequently entertaining at our house and we love to have a reason to entertain our friends.  Last week when it was the Oscars, Natalie decided we needed to have an Oscars night at our house and dress up like we were actually at the Oscars.  Needless to say, living in Oskaloosa means you don't have fancy dresses in your closet, so Natalie and I opted for our high school prom dresses.  Even better yet, they fit and were actually a little too big!  (Thank you Mary for the work outs!! :) )  It was a fun evening and I think we might make this a traditional party at our house :)
