A Very, Merry Christmas

This year's Christmas was/is a very busy holiday season for us--we have eight different Christmas gatherings to attend!

Sunday, we had the Converse Christmas.  It is always a good time when we get together and I just love how close our family is with one another.  Good food, great family time, even better memories.  I know Grandma Peggy was laughing right along with us all night and joining in on family jokes.

The "Veldhuizens"

Best Friends

On Christmas Eve, we had Scott and Michelle's Christmas and also my dad's Christmas (very busy day)!  With all of the running around we had been doing the past couple of days, it had finally gotten the best of poor Beau.  He became terribly sick.  Even though he was not feeling well, he was still excited to open presents!

He was so worn out and ready to sleep for the rest of the day!

Beau LOVED his new truck from Grandpa and Grandma Pierson!

Uncle Joe and Banx were worn out too at my dad's so they decided to take a short snooze :)

The "Fynaardts"

My mini Prince Charming

On Christmas Day, we had more family gatherings to still attend.  Scott and Michelle still had Michelle's family at her house, and we also my my mom's Christmas.  Poor Beau was still under the weather, but he was such a trooper!

Never a dull moment with these two!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  This year was such an amazing and blessed year for Joe and I and we are so grateful for everything!  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Chatty Beau

Beau has been working up his talking skills lately, and just loves to talk your ear off!  His new favorite thing,is to pretend to hold a phone to his ear and talk, talk, talk.  This is just too precious!

Beau's First OFFICIAL Word

Yes, I know this video is VERY old (it's from June), but as I was going through my phone videos I realized I never posted this.  I want Beau to be able to look back someday and see how adorable this was :)

Christmas Program

The children's Christmas program at church this year was just precious!  Banx had the role of singing, dancing, entertaining the crowd, and being a very good little sheep.  Even though Beau was too young to be in the program, he enjoyed playing with the confetti once church service was over.  I cannot believe next year he'll be old enough to be in the program.  Time is just going by way too fast..
It really is a shame these two look nothing alike ;)

Water Bug :)

One of Beau's FAVORITE things is playing in water, any kind of water!  At the lake, in Nana's pool, and especially in the bath tub.  His little bum has been sore the past couple of days due to teething, so Miss Mary was so good to him yesterday (as she always is) and gave him a nice, long, warm bath in the kitchen.  As you can tell, he is loving it!

Santa's Little Helper

Yesterday, Joe and Beau went to help Michelle and Uncle Josh decorate the Christmas tree while I had a mommy day to finish some Christmas shopping.  Joe kept sending me pictures of Beau and this was by far my favorite:  he is supposed to be helping Grandma hang ornaments, but it looked like he needed a break for some fruit pops and joovy trike time :)

Smokey Row Date

Friday, Beau was REALLY spoiled at our Smokey Row  date because daddy AND Nana came to join us!  What made Beau even more excited, is when daddy was able to leave work early and come surprise him at Miss Mary's to pick him up :)  Beau was quite the handful at Smokey Row as he was trying to show off for daddy and Nana.

Jake Owen: Round 2!

Two weekends ago, Joe and I went on a date with several of our friends to go see Jake Owen in concert.  We had previously seen Jake Owen in Dallas this past summer when we went to the Brothers of the Sun Tour.  We loved him the first time, and even more the second time!  It was a great night out and a well deserved date night for us :)
In "costume" and ready for a fun night!

My college roommate, Ashley, met up with us there!

Mommy/Son Date

Every Friday, Beau and I have the tradition of going on a "date" to Smokey Row for cookies or ice-cream.  Friday, he decided he HAD to have both :)
Yes, I know my son has long-crazy hair right now, but when I "style" it, I promise it looks adorable :)

Here comes Santa!

Last Saturday we took Beau and Banx to Mahaska Drug to see Santa.  Beau wasn't too sure about sitting on Santa's lap...

Lazy and Crazy Babies

When Banx was staying at our house, her and Beau loved sleeping in and then watching cartoons in bed.  Their second favorite time together was bath time :)  What a couple of cuties.  I will cherish moments that I capture like this forever!

Spoiled Babies!

The past few mornings, Uncle Joe has been spoiling the babies by cooking them a feast for breakfast.  Today, the menu included cereal, milk and yummy spinach omelets!

First Night of PowerKids

Wednesday night, Banx had her first night at PowerKids at church.  She was so excited that she actually got to go with the kids tonight to do crafts and eat the yummy meal.

Since Brook and Austin are out of town for the week, I get to have Bankers for that time!  I tried filling in the "mommy" role by taking several pictures and getting her all prim and proper :)  PowerKids lasts until 7:00pm, but at 6:15 Banx started telling people "bye-bye".  She knew she was tired and ready to go to bed.  And sure enough, as soon as we got home, brushed teethe, read books, her AND Beau were in bed asleep before 7:00 p.m.  I am so blessed to have such a good son and niece :)
Thanks Nana for the yummy treat :)

Where are all the other kids PP?

Goofing around with Nana and Beau before PowerKids starts

Pierson Banquet

Beau was so excited to go help daddy and "talk" to dealers at the banquet

Last night, Joe had his annual Rainbow Seed banquet.  This year, it was held at Monarch's in Pella.  Joe wanted Beau and I to tag along, and Beau seemed anxious to go help daddy "work" :)  Once we got there, he was walking around to tables, smiling and flirting with anyone who walked near him.  Once bedtime rolled around, he was down for the count!  When Beau needs his sleep, he TRULY needs his sleep!

Farmer, Beau

A few weeks ago, I took Beau out to my Great-Grandpa Fynaardt's farm.  It is a very special farm to my dad since he was so close to my great-grandpa.  I knew it would be special to him to take his grandson out there, now!  Beau absolutely LOVED the bulldozer.  But when my dad took Beau for a ride in the tractor, then Beau was in Heaven.  He couldn't keep his hands off the wheel from driving and screamed/cried when it was time for us to go.  I think Grandpa Gene has found a new helper for the farm!

Happy Birthday, Puntin and Michelle!

Last Tuesday (Nov. 20) was Banx and Michelle's birthday---yes, we will be very busy celebrating that day over the years! :)  We started off at Blackwell's house to celebrate Banx's big day.  She had an adorable "monkey" theme and was, of course, dressed to impress.  She was so much fun to watch as she kept "showing off" for everyone by running around and doing all of her tricks.  Happy (belated) birthday, Putnin. We love you so very much!

After we left Banx's party, we headed to Kaldera's in Pella, one of Michelle's favorite restaurants. It was so good to have the Pierson clan together and to help Michelle celebrate her special day! We love you so much Michelle and appreciate EVERYTHING you do for us!

Thanks, Aunt Brookie!

Aunt Brook had left her pink Breast Cancer straw cup in my car from awhile back, so after I had washed it, Beau INSISTED that he play with it.  Little did I know, that he actually wanted to drink from it!  I filled it with ice water and he went to town drinking through the straw.  He's just growing up too fast!

We love the weekends!

We absolutely love the weekends in the Pierson household.  Saturday morning Beau always seems to talk daddy into letting him come cuddle in bed with us :)  Beau's favorite part about being in our bed---he gets to sit with his doggies and look out the window with them.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Sorry for the delay in posts.  It has been very crazy at our house this month with working at the new house, having a sick baby, and getting ready for the holidays!

A couple of weekends ago (Nov. 9) was my mom's birthday, 39 right mom?? :)  We celebrated by going to Prairie Meadows to see Wilson Phillips in concert.  It was  great time and we had a blast celebrating with her!  We love you mom!

1 Year Check Up

Yesterday, Beau had his 1 year check up.  He sure is a growing boy right now!  He is off the charts for height at 31 1/2 inches tall, 69 percentile for weight at 24 pounds, and 92 percentile for head circumference.  We have a tall baby needless to say :)  Can't believe how fast this is going.  He'll be in pre-school before we know it!
The ipad was the only thing that Beau wanted during his whole appointment!  I think he might need his own now ;)

Sleepover #1

Last weekend, Brook and Austin went to Des Moines to celebrate a friend's birthday.  So, that meant Joe and I were lucky enough to get Banx all day Saturday through Sunday.  They had so much fun playing together with Beau's new birthday toys.  They didn't want to go to bed at their bedtime because they knew it was "party time", so we all stayed up for a bit watching a movie.  We LOVED having her over, especially Uncle Joe.  When it came time for bed, she only wanted Uncle Joe to put her to bed....don't worry Puntin, you'll like me more once it comes time to shopping ;) JK!  We had a great weekend and we can't wait for the sleepovers to continue over the years with Banx!

What's With All This Monkey Business?!

Last Wednesday night was Halloween night at church, and of course that meant Beau had to dress up in his Monkey costume!  We usually go to church every Wednesday night to visit Nana while she's cooking the meal for the kids, and it gets Beau in a good routine of knowing that Wednesday night is Church Night.

Beau LOVED wearing his costume because that meant MORE ATTENTION!  Yes, my son is a ham.  He loves the attention, especially from his best friend, Banx.  Beau and Banx were so sweet together as they posed for pictures and had a little snack together.

May the Halloween party continue on tonight!
