We have become close with our lake friends over the last year. Kendall and Amanda are always so much fun for us to spend time with, and our kids love Khloe and now our dogs love each other :) 

 

Remembering Dana

One of my teacher friends, Dana Hols, passed away from cancer last week. She was diagnosed in early March with stage 4 cancer, and 18 days later she was gone. We are all still in shock about this. She was such a fun, bright spirit. She went through more trauma in her life than anyone should ever have to go though. Yet through it all, she persevered for her daughters and grandchildren. I loved going to the TAP with her and our other teachers on Fridays. She was the life of the party and always made others feel loved and welcomed. I will miss you, Dana. 

 

Hair Dresser Daddy

Piper loves to do her hair and "makeup" with me. I often will sit on the floor in the living room with a mirror and do mine while I watch TV or just to have a change in scenery. Piper was arguing with me about wanting my mirror and I wouldn't let her. So she went and brought her makeup vanity into the living room and said "fine! I'll just have my daddy do my hair". And sure enough, she batted her eyes once and asked her daddy to come do her hair. And he did. With no hesitation :)

 Piper absolutely LOVES taking pictures, especially selfies with our ring light. She loves to take them with mommy and daddy :) We have a hard time saying no to her, especially when pictures are involved :)

Piper and Baby Brookie

 Piper is absolutely obsessed with her Baby Brookie. She takes this baby everywhere. I found her sleeping like this awhile back, and had to capture the moment. She is so sweet, peaceful and innocent here. It's a rare occasion so it needed to be remembered :)

We celebrated my sister's birthday a couple of weekends ago by taking her to Des Moines. The girls went shopping with Uncle Joe took the boys (and Piper) to a few restaurants to eat and be entertained so we could relax without the craziness of boys complaining. We hope you had the most amazing day and I know this year will be one for the books for you! Love you! 

Spring Break 2021 Mini-Getaway

 Since we weren't able to go on a spring break trip this year, I was feeling super guilty for the kids and wanted to do something special for them. So I made the INSANE brave decision to take them to a hotel for a day and night so they could swim and we could all get out of the house. Joe had to work, but came and joined us later in the night. 

Even though it was crazy busy, and I was losing my mind, the kids loved swimming, playing at the arcade, and of course jumping on beds at the hotel room :)

A Boy and His Dog

 

Beau is crazy about Koby. He says that Koby is his. That he named him. And wanted him. (well all did, except for Daddy). But Beau is so attached and I just love it. He loves it the most when Koby James snuggles with him. This dog is loved and spoiled--there is no doubt about that. 

Family Time

 We love it when we are able to spend time with the cousins. We had everyone over to Scott and Michelle's so the kids could ride outside on the toys. Then at night, of course we had a dance party on the pool table--because isn't that the only way it should be?? :)
