Disney Vacation 2017: Day 1 - Nashville,TN

Beautiful lake we crossed while heading into Tennessee

Well, we decided to do a last minute vacation this summer. And it was quite the adventure to say the least. What started out as being a quick weekend trip to see Joe's grandparents in Florida, turned into Joe planning an extravagant 12-day family vacation :) We decided that since we had so many things to pack for 3 kids, it was going to be easier (and cheaper) to drive. Yes, we are crazy, we are aware :). So we packed everything but the kitchen sink in one of Joe's Astro vans, and we were ready to hit the road!

On day 1, we left about 4:30 am and made it to Nashville around 1pm. We only had to stop once! The kids did so well on this car ride. They slept for most of it. Granted, we had taken the first bench out of the van and put a twin mattress in there so the kids could sleep better and I could get Piper out to change her and nurse her when I needed to. Once we got to our hotel in Nashville, we took a few minutes to decompress from our first leg of the trip and then we were ready to hit the town! This was our first time to Nashville, and it was such a fun town. Next time, we are NOT bringing kids so we can thoroughly enjoy it :) We walked around downtown for a bit, went to a restaurant to listen to live music, grab a bite to eat, and just enjoy the atmosphere. We had enough time to go to the Country Music Hall of Fame. I was pleasantly surprised with how many historic items they had in there. I personally loved seeing one of Elvis's cars that had it's own TV in the back seat --one of the first cars in history to have a TV in it they said. The outfits from famous country singers was really neat to look at too---imagine that, I loved the fashion ;). Overall, Nashville was a fun one day stop and the kids did surprisingly well too! Now on to Day 2....
