Easter With Nana and Den-Den

For Easter at my mom's this year, she and Dennis took all of us kids to Meskwaki Casino.  The kids all loved going swimming!  Beau was right at home jumping into the pool and swimming all over.  We wanted to put Baine in the water to see how he would do, and just as we expected, he love it.  He sat on the steps and kept kicking his feet.  I am so excited to see him in the pool and lake this summer :)

Mr. Brown Eyes

I cannot believe how BROWN Baine's eyes are.  I really am enjoying having two boys completely opposite; a blonde hair blue-eyed boy, and a brown hair brown-eyed boy.  Who would have thought they would have looked so different?!  I love that they are each their own and have beautiful individual features.  Baine's eyes are getting darker and darker it seems, and his face is really filling out.  He is my little "beefcake" :)

Loves to jump!

Wedding Anniversary

For our anniversary this year, it was a little less of celebrating, and more of recovering :).  The night before our anniversary, Joe had come down with a nasty virus and we spent the night in Pella at Urgent Care.  So for the next three days, Joe was in bed and did nothing but sleep.  He spent our anniversary in bed sleeping, and I spent our anniversary by sleeping with the boys in their room, and after they fell asleep, I binge-watched re-runs of the Real Housewives of New York.  Normally, I would have thought this would have truly bummed me out.  But this year, I was perfectly content staying home with my boys :).  Joe and I are always on the go it seems, and hosting parties of some sort; it was nice to just stay home with no company and nothing to do.

Maybe we will celebrate our anniversary now that he is finally feeling better, or maybe we won't.  Either way, all I know is how grateful I am for everything we have had in our past 4 years of marriage.  Cheers to many more years!

Beau's First Trip to the Movies!

Last week, Grandma Chelle had asked to take Beau to the movie "Home".  I was a little nervous since Beau had never been to the movies before; I didn't know how well he would do sitting still for that long!  But, he was great for Michelle!  They had a LARGE bowl of popcorn and Beau was in Heaven.  He ended up sitting on Grandma Chelle's lap for the movie, and couldn't wait to tell me all about it!

Work Day With Daddy

Since the weather is finally getting nice, we have been working outside, finishing up Beau's fort, and getting the yard cleaned up.  Joe needed to get some dirt from Clint, and borrow the skid loader.  Beau was so anxious to go help daddy!  They road in the dump truck to Clint's farm, Beau rode with Clint in the bulldozer, and helped daddy on the skid loader.  Seeing that father-son bonding time is so sweet.  I hope Beau always wants to help his daddy (I could really think of some neat projects they could make for mommy someday!).

Baine's Giggles

Baine has the cutest laugh in the world---Okay I think that because I am his mom---but it is really cute :)  He is always so happy, smiles at everyone, and just loves attention.

Trains Everywhere!

Aunt Joi had found a great deal on a HUGE load of Thomas the Train tracks and brought them over the other day for Beau.  Oh my goodness, he has been so excited to play with "Aunt Joi's tracks" every night since then.  I think we need to dedicate one whole room in the basement just for Beau's train tracks :)
