For Memorial Weekend, we had intended on spending time at Rathbun boating with Scott and Michelle and then relaxing at my mom's pool for part of the weekend, but nature had other plans for us. Since it was raining all weekend, we ended up going to stay with my Aunt Joi and Uncle Roger at their lake house in Thunderhead. It was a great weekend down there with my family and our friends! Thank you Aunt Joi and Uncle Roger for having us!!! :)
Beau loved helping Clint "drive" the boat and honking the horn
He wants to follow in "Grant's shoes" :)
Learning young how to be a fantastic bags player!
The weather was nice enough to go out boating!
Apparently Pat and Beau were worn out from the weekend because they both were passed out right away in the car ride home.
For the past couple of months, Beau has been crawling out of his crib at home, and at Mary's. We really wanted to catch it on video to see just how he does it at home, so Joe hid in Beau's closet and captured him in action. (Don't mind Beau's messy/unfinished room, it is the last room in our house that I need to decorate and finish).
After we realized Beau was climbing out by using his toy box, we decided to move it. To see how frustrated he is getting is priceless!
Again, to show how much of a daddy's boy Beau has become, he just LOVES being outside with Joe and helping out in the yard. He even knows to go and grab Joe yard tools that he needs :)
Lately Beau has had a change of heart as to who is his favorite. I used to be his favorite for everything---whether he was was hurt, hungry, tired, sad, or just wanted to play. Now, he only wants his Dada. Breaks my heart, my little baby is growing up too fast!
Right when we got home from school yesterday, Beau grabbed his bag of popcorn that I had brought him from school, and sat by the door saying "Dada bye-bye". I asked Beau, "Are you waiting on Dada?" Beau just smiled and said, "Uh-huh! Dada!" Even though I am not his favorite at the moment (except when he's tired/hurt or wakes up in the morning, he just wants me), it does warm my heart to see how great of a father Joe is and how much Beau adores him. Maybe by the time we have another baby, I will be Beau's favorite again :)
Yesterday, Mary sent me these adorable text pictures of Beau. He absolutely loves to swing at her house, and he knows that since it is nice out now, he gets to play outside everyday with her! Beau is definitely a little boy in every possible way---he just loves being outside. Seeing him smile like this can turn any bad day, into the best day.
This past weekend was the first weekend in quite some time that we had NO PLANS! It was so nice to just stay home, relax and not worry about being at a certain place at a specific time.
Saturday Joe, Beau, Natalie and I went to my mom's to enjoy the sun by laying out by her pool. As soon as we arrived at my mom's house, Beau saw Dennis in the tractor. When we set Beau out of the car, he started walking right across the driveway over towards the tractor. We knew Beau would have to go for a ride or he would scream and cry. When Dennis opened the tractor door and asked Beau if he wanted to go for a ride, Beau climbed up the tractor steps all by himself (Yes, Joe, my mom, and myself were there supervising to make sure he didn't fall). We couldn't believe he could climb up those large steps with no help---what a little monkey! As soon as he was in the tractor, he tried pulling the door shut and said "bye-bye". He was gone for over an hour and was perfect! He sat in the little "buddy" seat strapped in the whole time and never even threw a fit. I think he's going to want to help Dennis and also Grandpa Gene farm from now on :)
As Beau was riding in the tractor, Natalie, Joe and I were able to relax by the pool and even go in for a brisk dip :)
After we got back to town, we took Beau over to my dad's so they could spend time with Beau too. Beau just loves getting rides apparently, because all he wanted was for Grandpa to give him a ride on the lawnmower :)
