Teacher's Night Out

This was the only picture from the night, but it sure sums it up :)
The other Friday, a group of us teachers went out in Des Moines for the night.  It is that time of the school year where we desperately need a break! We stayed in downtown Des Moines, had dinner at Malo, then went out for the night. We had so much fun letting our hair down and just relaxing! We ran in to quite a few Osky people, so our party size grew as the night went on. I'm so grateful for these ladies as we are close friends at school and outside of school.

Soccer Update

So we had a rough first week of soccer. At Beau's first soccer game, he was very upset that he had to stop doing his new Avengers puzzle to leave for his game.  He threw a fit at his game, let the other team score goals, and just stood on the field with his arms crossed or his hands in his pockets. After being carried off the field by Daddy, and a possible speaking at the car, he was able to shape up for pictures that night.  Beau was very upset he didn't finish his puzzle though. His comment to me was,"mommy I was bad because you didn't let me finish my puzzle.  You know how important it is for me to learn my puzzles!"
Needless to say, we no longer start puzzles before soccer :) But Beau has been doing MUCH better, enjoying it, having fun, and even going after the ball.  Good job, Beau-Beau!

Hired Help

Beau and Baine have loved this nice weather, because that means they get to be outside and helping daddy in the yard!  Beau is even at the point where he is asking to go outside to do chores and earn some money. Gotta start them while they're young! :)

Kyle and Kaitlin's Wedding 4.9.2016

Our good friends, Kyle and Kaitlin were married a few weeks ago at Debbie's Celebration Barn.  Joe had the honor of being the Best Man, while Baine and Beau were the ring-bearers.  I was very nervous as to how Baine would do walking down the isle, but Beau ended up pulling a wagon with Baine and the flower girls, which worked out perfect and was adorable!

Kyle and Kaitlin, I am so happy and excited for you two.  You two make a beautiful couple and I hope you have a lifetime full of happiness ahead.  Love you two!

Our Dapper Dude

Dressing Baine up for Kyle and Kaitlin's wedding rehearsal was so much fun.  He is DEFINITELY at mini-Joe. I actually call him JJ now-Joe Jr.  He was so good at rehearsal and only tried messing his hair up once.  That is his new move these days, messing his hair up after I comb it and put gel in it.  He is soon ornery! :)

Celebrating March/April Belated Birthdays

We had a get together at my dad's house to celebrate Joe, Brook and my dad's birthdays.  It was a fun night of grilling out, letting the kids play in the yard, and just relaxing together.  I hope you two had a great night, and cheers to your birthday! :)

5 Year Anniversary

I cannot believe Joe and I just celebrated our 5 year anniversary this past month. Reflecting back on the 5 years, we have certainly been through a lot: deaths, having our two sons, battling through a rough miscarriage, and the usual battles of being newlyweds.  I am definitely not going to sugar coat it and pretend that we have this perfect "American dream" life.  Every marriage has their rough patches.  I must say, Joe is definitely the best in our marriage at being patient.  He is so good at letting me vent, get it "out of my system", and then moving on. That is an area I know I need to work on.  Joe and I have grown so much in the past 5 years, and I never thought we would be where we are today.  I am so happy with our family and our two sons.  I cannot imagine life without these men in my life!  Cheers to 5 years Joe!
