Relaxing Weekend

This past weekend was the first weekend in quite some time that we had NO PLANS!  It was so nice to just stay home, relax and not worry about being at a certain place at a specific time.

Saturday Joe, Beau, Natalie and I went to my mom's to enjoy the sun by laying out by her pool.  As soon as we arrived at my mom's house, Beau saw Dennis in the tractor.  When we set Beau out of the car, he started walking right across the driveway over towards the tractor.  We knew Beau would have to go for a ride or he would scream and cry.  When Dennis opened the tractor door and asked Beau if he wanted to go for a ride, Beau climbed up the tractor steps all by himself (Yes, Joe, my mom, and myself were there supervising to make sure he didn't fall).  We couldn't believe he could climb up those large steps with no help---what a little monkey!  As soon as he was in the tractor, he tried pulling the door shut and said "bye-bye".  He was gone for over an hour and was perfect!  He sat in the little "buddy" seat strapped in the whole time and never even threw a fit.  I think he's going to want to help Dennis and also Grandpa Gene farm from now on :)

As Beau was riding in the tractor, Natalie, Joe and I were able to relax by the pool and even go in for a brisk dip :)

After we got back to town, we took Beau over to my dad's so they could spend time with Beau too.  Beau just loves getting rides apparently, because all he wanted was for Grandpa to give him a ride on the lawnmower :)

The Tow Mator

Grandpa Scott and Grandma Michelle surprised Beau with a new toy, the Tow Mator.  Beau LOVES it.  Since Beau will use it inside the house as well, Grandpa Scott made a few accommodations to it by adding a front bumper so my walls and furniture will not be ruined when Beau runs into them :)  Thank you Scott and Michelle!

This video is a little short, I will put another one up soon.  But he absolutely loves driving on his own!

Stage 1 of Potty Training

Over the past couple of months, I have started to gradually get Beau to use the toilet to begin potty training.  He truly hates being wet/dirty, so at times he does go on the toilet for me.  Today officially made it clear that he is too smart for his own goods and needs to be potty trained, ASAP!

As I was getting ready for work, I heard Joe walk into Beau's room to get him up and just heard Joe screaming saying "Ahhhh, oh no Beau!  It's everywhere!  Paige, Paige, help!!!"  (there was also the sound of Joe dry-heaving as he does not have a very stable stomache :)  I ran into the room, assuming Beau was hurt, and found my son, naked standing in his crib, covered in his "soil".  He apparently had soiled himself, and decided to try and "change" his diaper.  He had his diaper off, his clothes off, and was wiping himself with a blanket to clean it up.  I'll save you the worst of the graphic details, but I had to blog about this.  I want Beau to know someday how much of a pain in our rear he can be when he tries to outsmart himself :)

So for all of you mommies of boys out there, I would appreciate any helpful tips or advice on how to potty train Beau :)

Mother's Day 2013

It still is hard for me to believe that I get to celebrate Mother's Day now.  I can truly say, that Beau has been the greatest gift from God that Joe and I ever could have been blessed with.  Everyday, Beau is bringing happiness and pure bliss into my life.  He is the one piece that was missing from my puzzle.  My little man makes me the happiest mommy I could ever imagine being!

Joe had a lovely weekend planned for me --- since Beau can't plan activities yet :).  Josh and Maggie came to town for the weekend, so we were able to have a lot of quality time with them, and of course they both loved playing with Beau!  Sunday we had lunch at one of my favorite restaurants, Kaldera, with my sister and her family, and my mom and Dennis.  We had a lovely lunch together and the kids did great!

In the afternoon, we took Beau for a walk with his Joovy Trike---his obsession at the moment!  When it was time to pack him up, he yelled "No, mama, no!!!".  For those of you who don't know, "no" is his new word of the moment.  It was so much sweeter when he would only say "uh huh" :)

We ended the afternoon by spending time with Michelle and by 6:00, Beau was wiped out and ready for bed!  It was a great Mother's Day!  I hope all of you mommies had a wonderful day and cherish the moments you have with your little one(s).

Daddy's Little Helper

Last night while I was at yoga, I received this text picture from Joe.  Apparently Beau wanted to be outside all night---no shocker there---and help Joe do yard work.  As much work as it is keeping 3 acres of our front/back yard looking nice, it is worth every bit of it to see how much Beau loves to run wild outside.  Joe brought down his Joovy trike while he worked on the garden, and Beau was in 7th Heaven.

I am going to have my hands full all summer with him wanting to be outside!

Spring Fever!

With the weather finally getting nice, Beau has been extremely hyper lately.  If he is not outside playing, he is bouncing off the walls like crazy!  Here is an example of his craziness lately...

Friday Afternoon Date

Every Friday, Beau and I have our "date" by going to Smokey Row after school.  Last Friday, Joe ended up leaving work early (since it had been snowing!) and joined our date.  Beau is getting to the point where he only wants to feed himself, so do not even try helping him!  He will have a meltdown, throw his head down and just cry---very dramatic.  He likes to pick out his own ice-cream now too.  All of this in-dependency is making me so sad, time is just going by way too fast.
Yes, he does HAVE to wear a hat everywhere now.  He likes to point to his hat now to make sure you notice he's wearing one.  Maybe he does like fashion like his mama :)
